On Tuesday, after playing five games for the Baltimore Ravens, running back Le’Veon Bell was waived by the team.
Before the official announcement by Baltimore Ravens, Le’Veon Bell wrote on Twitter: “It’s very sad, but it’s my blessing to join here. The city has a new understanding and knows how wonderful it is. Thank you Eric (General Manager of Baltimore Ravens) and John Harbaugh for giving me the opportunity to join Baltimore Ravens.”
If not claimed by the team, Le’Veon Bell will become a free agent. In his short career for Baltimore Ravens, Le’Veon Bell rushed the ball 31 times, advanced 83 yards and 2 touchdowns. He ranks behind Latavius Murray and Devonta Freeman in the deep lineup.
After Le’Veon Bell was waived, there are still three running backs left on the Baltimore Ravens roster: Latavius Murray, Devonta Freeman, and Ty’Son Williams. After the two top running backs, J.K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards, were reimbursed by injuries, Baltimore Ravens could not continue to complete a powerful rushing offense. At present, the Baltimore Ravens running back set has rushed for 705 yards, ranking 23rd in the league.
