Doug Pederson did not have a football-related job in the 2021 season, but he was the first coach the Jacksonville Jaguars interviewed for.

In five seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles, Doug Pederson led the team to a 42-37-1 record, making the playoffs three times and winning the Super Bowl once. The Philadelphia Eagles have only won four in 2020, and Doug Pederson was fired after the season.

Doug Pederson previously played a decade in the NFL, mostly as a backup quarterback. He began his coaching career in 2009, studying under Kansas City Chiefs coach Andy Reid. Doug Pederson’s previous Jacksonville Jaguars coach Urban Meyer had a poor record, leading the team to only 2 wins, and was also exposed to various off-field problems.

The Jacksonville Jaguars have only had a winning season since 2007, often losing at least 10 games. The Jacksonville Jaguars went 3-14 this season and once again bagged the No. 1 overall pick.
