On Monday, it was reported that the Los Angeles Chargers will sign former New England Patriots cornerback J.C. Jackson to a five-year, $82.5 million deal that includes $40 million in guaranteed money.
J.C. Jackson has played four seasons in the league so far and was named to the Pro Bowl last season. He ranks second in the league in interceptions (8) behind Dallas Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs (11).
New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick once praised J.C. Jackson’s sense of the ball: “If you throw any garbage, he can find it and pick it up immediately.”
J.C. Jackson, undrafted in 2018, has 25 sacks in four seasons, tied with Lester Hayes and Everson Walls for the most in the first four years of his career.
It was previously reported that the New England Patriots had negotiated a contract extension with J.C. Jackson mid-season, but he decided to wait until the end of the season.
