On Tuesday, New York Giants’ new general manager Joe Schoen said at an NFL workout camp that he would be open to an offer for running back Saquon Barkley, according to reports.
Saquon Barkley is one of the great players that the New York Giants may have to give up in order to get that figure below the salary cap by $11 million. Saquon Barkley will take up $7.217 million in cap space in 2022.
Joe Schoen said: “I’m open to everything. Like trading one player for another, I’ll listen to everyone’s offers. If it’s a multiple player trade…I wouldn’t say everyone on the roster has it. Could be traded. But if someone calls and offers, I’d like to hear it.”
Saquon Barkley had 2,028 yards in his rookie season, but only 2,391 yards in the next three seasons. Injuries are a big influence. He suffered a sprained right ankle, a torn anterior cruciate ligament, and a left ankle injury.
