On Saturday, the Pittsburgh Steelers officially announced that former Miami Dolphins coach Brian Flores will join the team as a defensive assistant and linebacker coach.
Pittsburgh Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said: “I’m delighted to have Brian Flores on the coaching staff. He has extensive experience developing defensive players. Brian Flores’ resume speaks for itself, and I look forward to him using his knowledge to help the team.”
Brian Flores has coached the Miami Dolphins the past three seasons, going 24-25. He has previously been with the New England Patriots defensive coaching staff.
Brian Flores recently sued the NFL, New York Giants, Miami Dolphins and Denver Broncos for discriminatory tendencies in their coaching hiring process. Miami Dolphins owner Stephen Ross is one of the central figures in the incident. Brian Flores alleges that during the 2019 season, Stephen Ross tried to persuade Brian Flores to deliberately lose with a bonus of $100,000 in order to obtain a high-level draft pick.
