Mike McGlinchey was injured in the first half of the loss to the Arizona Cardinals. After the game, San Francisco 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan said he could not determine the severity of Mike McGlinchey’s injury. Later tests confirmed the laceration.

Veteran Tom Compton played in place of Mike McGlinchey at the time, but he didn’t do well. The Arizona Cardinals defense ended up with five sacks. Kyle Shanahan said after the game that the reason for not letting rookie Jaylon Moore play is that Jaylon Moore trains primarily as a left tackle. But if Mike McGlinchey will be out for a long time, Jaylon Moore will be seen as a replacement.

Mike McGlinchey, the No. 9 pick in the 2018 first round, has started all of the season as a right tackle starter, missing only four of his 56 regular-season games. The San Francisco 49ers exercised Mike McGlinchey’s fifth-year contract option in April.
