Regardless of the progress of the 2020 draft, running back Jonathan Taylor seems to usher in the result of this Sunday’s Indianapolis Colts and Tampa Bay Buccaneers game.
On Sunday, if offensive tackle Tristan Wirfs was drafted, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers would choose Jonathan Taylor with the 14th pick in the first round of the 2020 draft. But after Tristan Wirfs fell out of the top ten, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers traded up and selected Tristan Wirfs with the No. 13 pick of the San Francisco 49ers.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers coach Bruce Arians said in a previous interview: “I like him very much. He is omnipotent, and coupled with this offensive frontline, it is only a matter of time before he shows off.”
Jonathan Taylor almost fell to Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the second round, but Indianapolis Colts traded up and selected Jonathan Taylor with the 41st pick. Tampa Bay Buccaneers used the 45th pick to select safety guard Antoine Winfield Jr., who did well in the first two years of his career.
Jonathan Taylor ranked first in the league in rushing yards (1122) and total touchdowns (15) this season.
