On Sunday, reporters reported that wide receiver DeSean Jackson will sign with the Las Vegas Raiders. He met with team executives via Zoom on Saturday.
The Las Vegas Raiders lost 23-16 to the New York Giants this week, and while they were not inferior in terms of numbers, their offense in the red zone was inefficient and affected by multiple ball transitions. Quarterback Derek Carr had two interceptions, one of which was returned for a touchdown and was sacked at the New York Giants’ 20-yard halfcourt line.
The Las Vegas Raiders’ deep offense was also affected by the layoff of wide receiver Henry Ruggs III. Henry Ruggs III was involved in a drink-driving accident last Tuesday that killed a 23-year-old woman. He could go to prison for up to 46 years.
DeSean Jackson played for the Los Angeles Rams earlier this season and had eight catches for 221 yards and one touchdown. Dissatisfied with his playing opportunities, he asked the team to waive him.
DeSean Jackson’s career best came in 2013, when he had 82 catches for 1,332 yards and nine touchdowns.
