On Saturday, the Dallas Cowboys agreed to trade wide receiver Amari Cooper and a 2022 sixth-round pick to the Cleveland Browns for a 2022 fifth- and sixth-round pick, according to reports.
The Cleveland Browns have started rebuilding their outfield team this offseason. Odell Beckham Jr., who had high hopes, was plagued by injuries and at odds with the team, and eventually joined the Los Angeles Rams after being laid off to win the Super Bowl with the team.
By comparison, none of the Cleveland Browns wide receivers had more than 600 yards last season, and only Jarvis Landry had more than 35 catches. According to reports, the Cleveland Browns have given Jarvis Landry permission to pursue a deal.
Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones publicly expressed his disappointment with Amari Cooper in January and declined to discuss the contract ($20 million base salary for the 2022 season). Amari Cooper had 68 catches for 865 yards and eight touchdowns last season.
CeeDee Lamb is expected to serve as the Dallas Cowboys’ number one extension going forward. He had 79 catches for 1,102 yards last season and was named to the Pro Bowl.
