On Saturday, the New York Jets officially waived defensive end Shaq Lawson.
Shaq Lawson was traded to the New York Jets near the end of the preseason, and considering that Shaq Lawson will take up $9 million in cap space next season, the layoff seems inevitable. In addition, veteran safety Sharrod Neasman was also waived. Sharrod Neasman appeared in 11 games with 14 tackles and one interception.
Shaq Lawson, a first-round pick for the Bills in 2016, has started seven of 14 games for the New York Jets this season. He completed a total of 23 grapples and one sack. In Week 8 against the Cincinnati Bengals, Shaq Lawson intercepted Joe Burrow’s pass with five minutes left to give the New York Jets a touchdown.
Shaq Lawson played in 78 career games with 21.5 sacks.
